She was used as a breeding dog and mistreated by her male owner. After 5 years of breeding, she was sent to a kennel in Illinois and put up for adoption. I rescued her in November 2009. She looked like a ghost of a dog with no soul. She was terrified of everyone, especially men. Lisa noticed something was wrong when she would try to go potty. She was taken to the vet and found out she had a walnut size kidney stone from years of untreated UTI’s. The stone had almost completely blocked her ability to urinate and would eventually have killed her. Once she starting feeling better, she was Lisa’s shadow. She loved being around other dogs so she took her to her friend’s house to play.
Bella got out of the yard, became spooked and ran off. She has been missing since May 2010. Unfortunately, Bella was never found. It must have been God’s plan because Missing Bella turned into a group of animal lovers who helped the community with rescue/lost & found/rehome pets.... and to be a voice for the innocent animals without one.
